The Mobley Family

The life of the Mobley's has yet to slow down. We are really itching for Spring, as I am sure the rest of the country is as well. We need a fresh start to our landscaping, our health, and our lives in general! Please, oh please hurry up spring!!! A couple weeks ago, Quin fell and hit his mouth, and I did blog a bit about that. This happened on a Thursday and I decided by Monday that I would like the dentist to see his mouth to make sure it was healing alright. The dentist took a look at his teeth and wanted to do an x-ray of his teeth as well. She discovered that he had knocked his front four teeth loose and fracture another. Quin also has extra tissue called maxillary frenum which is the tissue under the top lip that connects the lip to the top gum and sits above and between the top front teeth. A while back, the dentist had said, at a regular visit, that he had extra tissue there and to be careful because if and when he hits his mouth, it will bleed pretty badly. Well, I didn...

Things around here have been up and down. Seems every week, someone is struggling with illness or injury. Chris was sick for about a week and was either home recovering or traveling for work. Landon had the stomach flu, Alexa and Quin had colds. But, in between we've tried to make the most of our time together. We tried playing some board games, which I am very happy about because I love board games and the kids are getting old enough to keep the attention they require and understand the rules too. To those of you who even read my blog or pop in every now and then, I WILL be commiting more time to our family page. I've been pulled into to the social media scene for so long and realized how I've let go of some pretty important things in my life and documenting times that I can not get back but can turn to our family blog to revisit. So, I will be dedicating much more time to the blog and my efforts will not be limited to just that. I am also doing some soul searching and really focusing on some areas of my life that I would like to make better and wholesome. I am in the process of uploading LOTS of updates and pictures about the family as it's true, I have fallen behind. But I thought I might share something that I previously have shared with my MOPs group, as I write the newsletters and often share personal stories. I haven't shared this particular story with many people outside of my MOPs group. It's a story that has reminded me as this new year begins, that there is HOPE in things that bring us challenges. There is HOPE in fear, hurt, relationships, as well as those near and dear to your hearts. Some of you may already know the struggle we had a little over a year ago with our oldest son, Landon. He was facing some challenges that neither Chris nor I could help him with and it broke out hearts. You wouldn't know it now, because he has come full circle and we have ALL learned so much. This is a true story and as I rewrite it, I hope that I too can be reminded of how I can not take life or the people in it, for granted. ...
