School ends and summer begins!

Image
The school year has come to a close and we couldn't be more proud of Landon and Alexa as they received awards that we were surprised and very happy to help them celebrate. Both Alexa and Landon got rewards based on the fact that they are good friends to their peers. Always willing to help and doing the right thing, sometimes in tough situations. Alexa was most likely to become an artists as she LOVES to draw and color. Landon has accomplished so much as a reader and has grown beyond where we imagined him to be at this point. Landon graduated on the 19th and is very excited to now officially be considered a "first grader"! Here is a picture of Landon on the first day of Kindergarten and the Last day of Kindergarten. First day Last day Graduation Day Here are pictures of Alexa on her first day of preschool and her last day as she will be considered a "Pre-Kindergartner" First day Last Day Here are just a few pictures of all three kiddos.

Beautiful Day!

Image
Today was just an amazing Spring day. With all the rain we've had lately and how crazy busy life has been, I truly enjoyed soaking up the sun with my boys today. I took Quin to the park to play, just he and I and he had a BLAST! It is always so nice to hear the first belly laughs of the year at the park. The first trip to the park each year, is so different than the year before. I love watching the kids experience the park in a new way every year. How their abilities change and their interests far different than the last time they visited. He climbed ladders he couldn't climb last year and went down slides that were too fast for him last time. Nothing beats hearing him say, "I did it mommy! Watch!" And I let him know with excitement that I'm watching! Or the "can you help me?" as he trys to climb yet an even taller ladder that I know next year he will be asking me to watch him climb all.by.himself. I put Quin in the swing and he just laughed and laughed...

April's News

Image
what a long and exhausting month April was... it began with Quin's burn on his arm from the grill pan filled with hot grease. It was a total accident as Chris was clearing off the grill and didn't know Quin was behind him and it spilled on his arm. A quick trip to the E.R. and a follow up with his pediatrician, he is doing just fine. The hardest part was keeping it dressed and NOT pulling off the scab. It was horrible for me to keep it clean and dry. He never messed with it and did a very good job leaving it alone. however, this week was a reminder of how very delicate his skin is it blistered in the sun after about a half hour AND sunscreen on. Here are some pictures: Quin also had a small procedure done on his mouth where they removed some extra tissue under his top lip. He did great and only had a little swelling. The hardest part was having to pull his lip away from his gumline...horrible for a mother to do, let me tell you. A couple Easter pictures of the kids:...

Hurry Up Spring!

Image
The life of the Mobley's has yet to slow down. We are really itching for Spring, as I am sure the rest of the country is as well. We need a fresh start to our landscaping, our health, and our lives in general! Please, oh please hurry up spring!!! A couple weeks ago, Quin fell and hit his mouth, and I did blog a bit about that. This happened on a Thursday and I decided by Monday that I would like the dentist to see his mouth to make sure it was healing alright. The dentist took a look at his teeth and wanted to do an x-ray of his teeth as well. She discovered that he had knocked his front four teeth loose and fracture another. Quin also has extra tissue called maxillary frenum which is the tissue under the top lip that connects the lip to the top gum and sits above and between the top front teeth. A while back, the dentist had said, at a regular visit, that he had extra tissue there and to be careful because if and when he hits his mouth, it will bleed pretty badly. Well, I didn...

Things around here have been up and down. Seems every week, someone is struggling with illness or injury. Chris was sick for about a week and was either home recovering or traveling for work. Landon had the stomach flu, Alexa and Quin had colds. But, in between we've tried to make the most of our time together. We tried playing some board games, which I am very happy about because I love board games and the kids are getting old enough to keep the attention they require and understand the rules too. We also have treated ourselves to Ice Cream: Here is a belated birthday picture from Alexa's 4th Birthday: We've painted our fingernails and made precious piggie tails: One of my most favorite toys that my Grandma Carol and Grandpa Bob's house are these blocks that have been played with for many, many, many years by many, many children. Including my dad, me, my brother, my sister and now my kids. I don't keep them out all the time. In fact, I rotate th...
