December 2007
Well. It's been about a month since my last blog...sorry about that. I just haven't gotten around to it. I am going to start updating it more often, I'm getting backed up with pictures.
Okay...let's see. After Aruba, we prepared for Christmas. But first, we had the honor of being able to visit with my Aunt Mary, Uncle Zeke and their girls Hannah and Electa. I don't have any pictures because I didn't have my camera. But, I think the girls had a blast with Landon. This was their first time meeting him and they wore him out. He took such a long nap the day we were able to visit with them. Next, we celebrated Christmas with Chris' family on the 22nd of December, we went to Christmas at the Zoo that night with my mom. Landon had a blast looking at all the Christmas lights and riding the Train. Chrismtas Eve we celebrated Christmas with my mom and family. Landon recieved so many nice things from both families. Jason and Chris were able to go to a COlt's game the Day before Christmas Eve...they had a blast. It was really, really cold that day but they ran into someone CHris knows who had a heated tent and they, along with quite a few other people, huddled under there before the game. After we celebrated Christmas with my mom and family, we headed up to Fort Wayne where we brought Janelle to spend Christmas with us. It was pretty low key but Landon had the best time playing with his Aunt Janelle. On the 29th, we had some company. Well, alot of company. My brother Jason, his wife Sarah, their daughter Isabell, my sisters Janelle, Connner, Madison and my Dad and Liz. It was quite a houseful but we wouldn't have had it any other way. It was just a lot of laughing, phase ten, and food. Landon learned how to sign Grandpa and then over the visit, "Grandpa" taught Landon how to make the "touch down" sign (you know...both hands in the air) and say "grandpa" at the same time. By the end of the visit, Landon was a pro at saying Grandpa and throwing his hands in the air. He keeps asking for "grandpa". We had an awesome time and wish we were closer so that we could do these visits more often. As for Landon, he's all boy. He is working on what we hope are his last six teeth until he is three. The average one year old has between two and five teeth...Landon has almost 18 teeth. The poor kid has been working on these 6 teeth for about three weeks now. They really have been hard for him and his behavior. He is really irritable, but we are being patient and know that once they all come through, we won't have to deal with teeth for a while. He is signing "more", "eat", "bath", "grandpa", "please", "milk"...and we are working on a few more. It really helps us to understand him and it keeps hims from getting frustrated because we do understand him. It has really worked for us. We started with "more" and when he started using "more" for everything he wanted, we decided it was time to teach him some more signs and we did and they have been so great. Let's see...what else. Right after we got back from Aruba, we got lot's of snow. We went right out and bought him a snow suit. He wasn't too sure about it, but in the end, really had a good time. I think next year will be more fun. Over all, our holidays were great. Even Lily got into the spirit (see picture below). We took a few pictures, so enjoy and I will keep posting pictures as they are taken. Hope everyone enjoyed their Holiday. Love you all!
