a few funny words

Image
quick story. last night Landon, Chris and I were playing around and I was tickling Landon. It got to the point that I was tickling him so much that he couldn't even talk because he was laughing SO hard. Chris and I were then laughing because he was being so silly. At the end of "the tickle", Landon says, "mommy, stop...rude". Chris and I couldn't help but laugh and ask him if he said, "rude" and he said, "yeah, rude". Something we tell him when he's being...well rude. Wouldn't use it when someone is being tickled, but yet another word he is trying to use. Then this morning, Chris had to drive to South Bend, so Landon and I called him to see how the drive was going. Landon talked to Chris and was asked what time he got up. Landon tells Chris that he got up at "$9.99 o'clock". Side note: whenever we got to the store, we all three shop together and often one of us will ask the other how much something is. Landon often a

Not too much going on here, but I thought I would at least try and keep posting once a week or so to make a habit of it. Especially after the baby is here. I am 37 weeks along now which means at least 3 weeks to go. I had my doctor's appointment today and not too much to report. I feel like she has been laying horizontal alot this week so my doctor wanted to check and make sure. This meant that I got a special sneak preview on the ultra-sound machine. It looked like her eyes were open and she was opening and closing her mouth quite a bit. Everything looked great! Her heart, her head, everything. And she is head down, which I was made confident that she should stay that way... I hope. Let's see...the house is officially on the market and we have had two showings...nothing major. There are a couple of concerns for us in selling the house. Two people across the street from us are also trying to sell their house, which could hurt. Also, with the economy the way it is, it seems from

"Gi-fer-fer doing?"

So lately, Landon has been sort of testing out different words. Either to see if it's something that is okay to say or if it works in a sentence. Everynow and then he will say "stupid" to see if it's still a word that we don't say, which we don't in our house. Or "mine", which is something we are very careful about saying in that he can get pretty selfish when saying it. I posted a while back that Landon started calling me mom instead of mommy. This week, he has been saying mama. He's just trying words out. So this morning, I was fixing his breakfast and he looks at me and says, "Gi-fer-fer doing". (Translation: Jennifer doing?) If you know Landon, or have been around him enough, you will find out that he can be very nosy and wants to know what everyone is doing all the time. If you are the one with him or are even in the room with him, you can be sure to hear your name followed by doing. If you don't respond, he'll say it until

"special, special cookies"

Landon is a kid that just can't handle that much sugar. Not that we have experimented or anything to find out. When we travel to Indy, he knows that he gets fruit snacks at Mamaw and Papa's house, and that's the only time he gets them. He gets a sucker when he gets his hair cut and that's the only time he eats a sucker. He gets a snakwell's cookie everynow and then and when he has pudding...it's sugar free. Anything more than that, he just has a really hard time calming down and it's no fun for any of us...besides, I'm not complaining because he doesn't need a bunch of sugar anyways. (look who's talking...I love sweets). Every year, outside of the grocery stores here in Fort Wayne, you often find Girl Scouts selling their yummy cookies. I looked at Chris as we were leaving the store with "the look" and he asked how much they were and I told him. We got a box of Samoa's, which I was corrected in that they are now called "carmel

Our weekend

This past weekend was our last trip to Indy before the baby comes...at least we hope so. Saturday, we went to our nephew, Mason's, basketball game. We are so proud of him. He does a great job with teamwork and is really learning so much just from being on a team. They haven't won a game yet, but come so close every time. We spent time with Chris' step-mom, June, her birthday was Saturday. We also spent time with my mom, her birthday is today. Happy Birthday Mom!!!! We also were able to spend time our beautiful niece Sabrina who is getting so big and growing up too fast. I didn't get any pictures of her, but will post some here soon. She is too cute. On Sunday, I was given a small shower to help welcome our daughter who will be here in five short weeks. I am so thankful for the nice things that I recieved and was tickled to see lots of pink after seeing lots of blue for over two years now. So many cute and practical things. Thank you everyone! At the shower, I was also a

So...34 is how many weeks pregnant I am and I am excited because that means we only have six more weeks until we meet our sweet litte...you thought I was going to say her name...yeah right. We do have a name, but we have to keep it a secret. It's only right seeing that we did the same thing when we had Landon. I had my 34 week check-up on Tuesday and FINALLY saw my doctor for the second time since I found out I was pregnant. I have been meeting with the nurse practitioner/midwife which I am fine with. I am just ready to start seeing my doctor from here on out because, she is the one delivering the baby and I want to gain some confidence with her again. Everything checked out great and things look good this far and I suppose that's what's most important. Anywho...there is this lady that drives me crazy that checks me in, gets my weight, blood pressure...etc. She just says the wrong things at the wrong time. This time was no different. Chris always knows I will come home with

Landon has been such a ham lately. I don't think a day...well come to think of it, even an hour...has gone by that Chris and I haven't laughed at him. He repeats EVERYTHING, which we have learned isn't always something that we should be proud of. He has been really interested in books lately. We've read "The Very Hungry Catepillar" so much, that if we leave a word out, he can say it for us. He has been playing with all of his Christmas toys and his favorites are his tool set and his train set that was his Aunt Conner's when she was young. He loves to use his tool set to fix things around the house. One evening this past weekend, he was fixing our kitchen table. It was so funny to watch him. He gets so focused that he sticks his little tongue out...an essential part of "fixing" things I suppose. He does this anytime he is doing something handy. I got some good pictures of him using the tools. Here are some pictures that I was able to take while he
