Our Christmas

Image
Our Christmas was pretty busy, as most everyone's was I'm sure. We started our Holiday with a, for the most part, relaxing Christmas Eve. Landon helped make cookies for Santa and we talked about what was going to happen to the cookies and milk that we left on the fireplace. I wasn't too sure that he would really get it, although, we have been talking about Santa since spring I think when he found his "Polar Express" and christmas "I Spy" book. We told him that Santa would come down the chimney, leave some treats in his stocking and leave a few surprises under the tree. We would quiz him and he would answer back. The funny thing is, when I would ask him what Santa was going to leave him in his stocking, he would answer "candy cane". I thought, "wow, this kid doesn't want much, I think we can pull off a candy cane". Christmas Eve, before Landon went to bed, he helped pour the milk and carry the cookies to the fireplace and walked ri

okay. so I know that I just posted yesterday, but, I think I am realizing the little amount of time I have left of being a mom of only one. So, I am soaking up all I can here in the next 8 weeks with my little man. 8 weeks? That's crazy, and I don't want to miss anything that Landon does. He is growing up so fast. The pictures of Landon at the front door are of him proudly watching his daddy fix the tree in the front yard that was damaged by the ice storm. He just looks so precious. I am posting a video montage of Landon. The first part of the video is Landon doing his most favorite thing...playing in the bath. He's fearless. The last part of the video is of Landon saying his "abc's" the best that he can. He has really done a great job this week and we have caught him saying them all on his own and correcting himself if he makes a mistake. We are so proud! The last picture I will leave with you is of our little scrooge, lily, can you see the "ba-hum-bug&q

An Ice Storm, Big Changes and A New Hat

Alrighty. Much of us are feeling this winter weather in one way or another...lot's of snow, ice, or just freezing cold. I will start with the Ice Storm that we had last night. It wasn't the worst one in History, but I can't remember the last time I have experienced one. We woke up to ice covering the windows and the Pine Trees out back weighted down with Ice. It's actually really pretty. There are only two things that have caused some annoyance; the electricity keeps going on and off at different times, which should make Landon's nap interesting seeing that he HAS to have a fan on while he sleeps. The other annoyance is the one and only tree we have in our front yard got so weighted down with ice and then the odd thunderstorm we had soon after the ice storm that...it cracked in half. Our poor little tree. It was so perfect. One of the only ones left on our street with all of it's leaves still in place, perfect in shape like a pear. Then we woke up this morning a

Our weekend...

Boy, did we have a busy weekend. The drive to Indy is really starting to wear on me. I am just really uncomfortable in the car and it's just getting a bit harder. We've decided that we are going to try and plan things more in a combination of the weekend rather than having to drive to Indy three weekends in a row. So...this weekend was Jam packed. On Friday, Chris and I went on what will probably be the last date night until the baby gets here. We went to see The Lion King on Broadway at the Murat in downtown Indy. We had a great time. We stopped and got our favorite breadsticks that we can't find anywhere else that really meets our tastebud's satisfaction...Noble Romans on west tenth street by my mom's house. We stuffed our faces and then went to the show. It was really, really good. The costumes were amazing and it was just nice to get out the two of us and enjoy some down time. The show was great, the music was great and the costumes were great. As for Landon, I

This weekend was a pretty good weekend. We just kind of hung out at home and spent time together. Landon ended up catching my cold and hasn't felt all that great, but, we tried to make good use of our weekend at home anyway. It snowed most of the weekend, so there wasn't much anticipation to get outside. Saturday we spent most of the day inside, but we did buy a gingerbread house that we put together and enjoyed some hot chocolate. Landon had a good time helping and sampling the candy that came with the gingerbread house. We also took a late night drive through the neighborhood to check out the christmas lights on all the houses. We had just one problem. We didn't eat dinner before we drove around and had a hard time keeping Landon awake in the car with the soothing Christmas music on the radio and the pretty lights outside. Next time, we will make it the last thing we do for the day so we can carry him up to his room. As for me and Baby...I am 30 weeks and feeling pretty g

Our Thanksgiving Weekend

Our little ham...or turkey rather! This is going to be short because I am exhausted and I have a cold :) We had a great holiday weekend. It started with my Dad, Step-mom and sisters coming to Fort Wayne to visit us for a few days before Thanksgiving. We all had a good time playing games and watching Landon be the center of attention. Chris, Landon and I went down to Indy and had Thanksgiving at my Mom's house on Thursday and then went to Bloomington to see my dad's side of the family. We went to Bloomington again on Friday for a short visit before my dad headed back to Colorado. Then on Saturday, we celebrated Thanksgiving with Chris' family and headed back home Sunday. We put up our Christmas Tree on Sunday afternoon and really had good time doing so. It was so fun to watch how excited Landon is this year and how much more aware of things he is about Christmas. I can't wait for Christmas to actually get here...we've been talking about Santa since May as Landon has
