An Ice Storm, Big Changes and A New Hat

Alrighty. Much of us are feeling this winter weather in one way or another...lot's of snow, ice, or just freezing cold. I will start with the Ice Storm that we had last night. It wasn't the worst one in History, but I can't remember the last time I have experienced one. We woke up to ice covering the windows and the Pine Trees out back weighted down with Ice. It's actually really pretty. There are only two things that have caused some annoyance; the electricity keeps going on and off at different times, which should make Landon's nap interesting seeing that he HAS to have a fan on while he sleeps. The other annoyance is the one and only tree we have in our front yard got so weighted down with ice and then the odd thunderstorm we had soon after the ice storm that...it cracked in half. Our poor little tree. It was so perfect. One of the only ones left on our street with all of it's leaves still in place, perfect in shape like a pear. Then we woke up this morning and saw half of it broken and hanging on for dear life. How will we sell the house with half a tree. Wait a second. Did I say "sell the house?" I sure did. The leads me to the "Big Changes" part of the blog. Last week, Chris got a call from Cook, the company he currently works for, offering him a new position at Cook headquarters in Bloomington. If you know us, you'll know we have been wanting to get out of Fort Wayne, this was very tempting for us. We have been trying to leave Fort Wayne since we moved here three years ago, it just hasn't been the town for us. We are very excited. So much in fact that Chris accepted the position on Monday and will start January first...sort of. If you also know us, you will know that I am pretty pregnant and due the second week in February which might make for some stress...YA THINK!!!! Cook is being so patient and understands where we are at in our lives right now and is willing to let Chris start his new position here in Fort Wayne and do as much as he can with some trips to Bloomington between now and when the baby comes. Now, we just have to figure out the move and hope we can sell the house with the way the market is right now and with half a tree in the front yard. I know this will bring a lot of stress, but it's something we have wanted for a while. We hope in the next year or two to be in Bloomington as we LOVE, LOVE, LOVe it so much. So, that's our big news. I will keep you posted as things take place. As for a new hat. When we got home last weekend, there was a nice package in the mail with Landon's name on it. We opened it up and there was a wrapped Disney hat of the character "Tigger" from Disney. If you know Landon, you know he LOVES hats...this couldn't be more perfect. He put it right on his head, wore it through dinner, and we had to convince him to take it off for bed because "tigger needed to take a nap too". Thank you, Aunt Mary, Uncle Zeke, and cousins Electa and Hannah, so much for the nice gift. Landon loves his new hat. I am posting some pictures that Landon and I took together this morning while we were waiting for the electricity to come back on. Enjoy!
