First Weekend

Our weekend went pretty well. Landon came back home on Saturday and I was so excited to see him. It was nice to have the first night home to adjust, just Chris, Alexa and I. She has a really hard time from about 11:00 A.M. to about 3:00 A.M. So, since we've been home, we haven't been to bed before at least 2:00 a.m. or so. When Landon came home on Saturday, we didn't make a huge deal about anything. But you could tell when he walked in the house, he kind of looked around, the swing was up, there were diapers on the table, the carseat, etc... The look on his face was sort one of wonder in why the baby came home with Mom and Dad and that maybe she was going to stay at the hospital, where he had seen her. He eventually warmed up and whenever she cried would bring her pacifier or touch her head. By the end of the day, he wanted to hold her, or kiss her hands. This morning, the first thing he wanted to know was "mommy, baby sister go?" He wants to know where she is at all the time. He has asked to hold her a couple times today and does a very good job. He really hasn't shown any signs of jealousy at all and for that I am thankful. The only challenges we've had is that we are trying to get him back on his schedule from before Alexa was born and reminding him of the rules that we have in our house and in public. Let's just say our trip to the grocery store was one I don't ever want to re-visit! He is a great big-brother who is going through some changes, but I really couldn't ask for any more from him. He is a sweetie. I bought some really cute bows from a woman who makes bows for little girls here in Fort Wayne and they came in the mail yesterday and I couldn't resist trying them out. They are WAY too big right now, but she still looks precious if I do say so. We took her to the doctor today for her check-up and everything looks good. She was 5 pounds 9 ounces when we left the hospital and she was 5 pounds 11 ounces today, so she is getting back to her birth weight. Unfortunatly and as we thought might happen, she is really jaundice. When we came home Friday, her score was 9.5 and today it was 19 so we have to go to the doctor again tomorrow and have it checked and I would be surprised if she didn't have to do the bili-blanket. Landon was on one for a week or so after we brought him home and they are just annoying. But, you've gotta do what you gotta do. We did give Alexa a bath tonight. Because she has been going to the bathroom so well, we thought it might be time to really clean her up. She cried at first when I took off her clothes and then she really seemed to enjoy it. She just layed there and let me wash her off. Other than that, I think things are going really well. Chris is amazing and doing so much to help with Landon and make sure that everyone is doing well. I couldn't do any of this without him. He is just amazing and I have fallen more in love with him watching him with our children and how much he loves them. He's a great Dad:) Enjoy the pictures!

You can tell that she is Jaundice but she's still beautiful though. I'm glad that Landon is taking to her really well, it makes things a lot easier on you and Chris. If you need any advice or mommy talk I'm here.... Congrats again!!
