Adjustments

Well, we are finally all moved in and unpacked, for the most part. Chris worked his tail off all weekend to break the house in and get everything done. Thanks to my mom and sister for helping unpack a bit and thanks to Chris dad and step-mom for watching Landon for an overnight. Chris did most everything all on his own and did a great job...exhausted, but it's all done. Friday, the day we moved, was CRAZY! Alexa was especially fussy and wouldn't allow me to do much to help Chris. Landon was pretty good for the most part, but was a bit upset to find that his bed had been taken to his "new house". He didn't want to talk about the "new house" and I think just didn't understand. Landon did have a great time helping to pack...or prevent us from packing rather. Landon had the best time with the boxes that we bought to pack everything up with. I was in the other room and came into the living room to find Landon making a "house for baby sisser". We went from there and I helped him to make a small house out of the boxes. I did however, have to prepare him for when daddy needed a box, that we couldn't get upset and we were to hand him a box and be a big helper. It took a couple times, but he did pretty well. By the time we had packed everything up and the movers had made their way down to Indy, we had been called for four showings on the house for the following day. (We've gotten a response on one of the showings and they would've made an offer except for the fact that they hated the busy road behind our house...they wanted to think about it over the weekend, so we will see.) One of the last things we packed was Landon's goldfish. You don't even understand this fish. We purchased this fish for 26 cents at Walmart about 10 months ago. Who out there can say that they've had a 26 cent fish last more than maybe a month. Well this fish has many lives...considering we are terrible at remembering to feed it. I looked at Chris as we were about to leave and I asked him what we should do with "the fish" (that's it's name). He said, "flush it?" We thought about it for only about three seconds and then realized that this fish had come to far to just have his life flushed down the toilet. So we went where no family has gone before in the transporting of "the fish". I cleaned out his fish bowl and emptied out a water bottle from the fridge. I filled it with fresh water and Chris bravely, put his hand down in the fish bowl and grabbed the fish and put it in the water bottle and that is how the fish made it's way from Fort Wayne, IN to Indianapolis, IN and is still alive to tell his story...or "ploop, ploop, ploop" his story. Now, if we could just remember where we packed it's food. It's only been five days since he ate last...ehhh he's gone longer. Alright...sorry this is so long, but for those of you who are bored at work, this will give you something to read, I suppose. After spending the weekend here in the new house, Landon has had a really hard time adjusting and has had many meltdowns. We are really trying to be patient, but keep the rules the same. He has been sleeping in his room great. But, I think part of "tantrums" are that Chris was so busy getting everything together in the house, Landon was needing attention that he wasn't getting. Our goal this week is to find a schedule for both the kids and I'm sure they will do fine. Alexa has been having a really hard time at night. She was GREAT the first two weeks, and this past week has been rough. She truly has her days and nights mixed up, so another adjustment to figure out. Here are a few pictures to go with the blog. I'm sure you'll figure out what is what. There is a picture of Alexa on the dryer as in desperate moments when I just can't get her to settle down...turn on the dryer and let her doze off:) I'll try and keep up with my postings...just a bit crazy right now. Wonder when I'll get to shower today?
