I just can't believe that here in just a few short weeks, Landon will be turning one. Unbelievable. As for the past few weeks, we have just been absorbing all the new things that Landon has mastered...well, maybe not mastered but rather, attempted. Landon can now say "uh-oh". He does this so well, that it has become a little game. He likes to throw things just so he can say "uh-oh" or hear Chris or I say it. He recieved his very first pair of shoes. Yes, he has worn shoes before now, but there are his first pair of "big-boy walking shoes". He is still trying to get used to walking in them, but he practices. He is not walking all the time, he is still learning and working up the courage. He practices a little everyday. He has learned to clap his hands. Of course Chris and I have been clapping our hands at every "amazing" new step he reaches; I mean of course EVERYTHING he does is "amazing". He just decided the other day that if he puts both of his hands together with a little force, it makes kind of a cool sound. This past weekend, we went to Hilgers Farm Market to pick out our pumpkins for the fall. It was the most perfect weather and Landon loved EVERY pumpkin, which meant for a long time at the market seeing that there were hundreds of pumpkins. It would have been easier if he could walk independently. Since he still needs help and the mass amount of people, we brought the stroller and he didn't much like that. He wanted to see every pumpkin at eye-level so he could really connect with the right pumpkin. In the end, I snuck over to the table with the little cute pumpkins and picked one out for him. He loved it. SO much that, he had to have it on his lap in the stroller and he had to carry it on his lap all the way home. When we got home, we took some pictures with it. When we were done with the pictures, he had a littl meltdown. We carried the pumpkin inside and I decided it was time for a nap so the pumpkin was placed on the counter and he had another meltdown. I did for a second think maybe I could put it in the crib with him, but you know how those pumpkin stems can attack at any given moment; I thought it best to not do that. Nonetheless, he had a blast. It was exciting to really do a family outing like the pumpkin patch where Landon was really interested in everything around him. I think that's all for now. I hope everyone is enjoying their fall. I know we are starting to, now that it's not 90 degrees in October anymore. Nothing like a blue sky and crisp, cool air.
