growing up

there has been lots of growing up around our house this past week or so. ms. alexa had a tooth break through and another almost through. she also has discovered how to get up to her kneew and is able to rock a few times before falling. she gets right back up and tries again. after while, she gets fussy, but still gets right back up and practices. wonder if that's part of the personality she will have. she is so funny and i love watching the little person she is becoming. she loves to entertain and will do something over and over if it makes you laugh or smile.

landon has been growing up in the sense that, he is becoming more creative in ways to get out of bed at night. just lastnight, he got up several times before he finally settled down. let me set the scene for you: As I think both kids are asleep for the night, before eight o'clock, which is pretty darn good, i decide to relax and give myself a pedicure and watch a little t.v. As I sit in the living room, which is VERY close to his bedroom as all he has to do is walk out of his room and there i sit.
Landon: "mommy, i need to see something on the t.v."
Me: "Landon, it is time for bed and you need to get back in bed."
(walk him back to his bed)
5 minutes later
Landon: "mommy, i need to go potty"
Me: "Landon, you've been potty three times, i really don't think you have to go. (i give in) you have two minutes."
(walk him back to bed after "using the potty")
5 minutes later
Landon: "mommy, i need to watch you do your toes"
Me: "Landon, this is mommy's time to herself and it's time for you to get back in bed."
(walk him back to bed)
10 minutes later
Landon: "mommy, i forgot to kiss alexa goodnight. I need to give her a kiss" Me: "Landon, Alexa is already in bed and alseep, you can kiss her in the morning." (walk him back to bed)
25 minutes later
Landon: "mommy. i need to tell you something."
Me: "what is it you need to tell me?"
silence as he stares at me
Me: "Landon, what is it you need to tell me? it's bed time and you need to get back in bed."
silence as he stares at me chewing on his blanket
Me: "Landon, it's time to get back in..." interupted
Landon: "I'm think'n 'bout what i need to tell you"
Me: "alright Landon seriously, it's time for bed."

He did finally go to sleep because I think he got tired of thinking of reasons to get out of bed.

Hope this finds everyone having a good week. Chris is out of town again this week, so we are looking forward to seeing him when he gets back on Thursday night. :)
