A ladies man...

landon is quite the ladies man. i mean, he can't help it if he is surrounded with beautiful ladies ALL the time. he only has like two boys his age that he knows and plays with. so, i guess that leads nature to play the game. we have a friend maddie, that he likes to hold hands with as he walks her to her car. he plays with our dear friend ella crane, (who by the way emily, if you read this he told me yesterday, "ella crane is beautiful. she always wears beautiful clothes") that he admires. but there is a special someone that he talks about and acts just a little different when she is the topic of conversation. i am not pushing the subject by any means, but as a mom, i can't help that he is just too cute when this little girl is around or spoken of. her name is kinley. she is in his class at school. she is a little blonde hair, blue eyed little girl with little purple glasses. such a cutie. he has commented on her before. for example, a conversation we had after school one day after i noticed that kinley got new glasses. i asked landon if her glasses were new and he told me they were. he then said, "she looks beautiful in her new glasses". So sweet! there have been conversations here and there. really just small talk about how he played with her at school and i have noticed they seem to sit by each other during lunch often. yesterday morning, landon got himself dressed and as i was getting ready myself, he came into the bathroom and asked if he could comb his hair for school. (side note: "combing" his hair means spray gel and the whole nine yards which is something we usually only do for church or a holdiay). I asked him why he wanted to comb his hair and he said, "I just do mom. please can you comb my hair?" I told him that was fine. he then says, while i'm fixing his hair, "i wonder if kinley will be at school today?" i got the point as to why he wanted to comb his hair, if ya know what I mean? kinley was at school, i noticed they were sitting by each other at lunch. Coincidence? Perhaps, but cute still. Later in the evening, i asked him if kinley said anything about his hair and he said, "yeah. she said she liked it and she said i was handsome". my am i gonna have my hands full with this guy. he's not annoying about it, just very polite and innocent...for now anyway. just another example of him growing up. and another example of how some days, i feel like i am raising a 13 year old and not a 3 year old. he teaches me something everyday and i love him for that.

as for alexa. no boys in the near future, thank goodness. but she is walking everywhere and i am so glad for that because she has slowed down a bit. she was such a fast crawler, i could barely keep my eye on her. she is a girl, no questions in regards to being dramatic lately. she has been in time out a couple times for pinching our faces and when i sit her down, you would have thought i shut her hand in the door. she crys and crys like i broke her heart. she will even throw herself forward on the floor, dead weight and sprawl out and cry and cry if she doesn't get what she wants. mercy! i am sure this is payback for me as a little girl. she has a very funny personality and she is very sweet 97% of the time. just an all around happy little girl...who throws a fit once in a while. her and landon have really been entertaining themselves lately which is nice for me trying to keep up with the house. we have a showing on saturday and an open house on sunday. i am really wishing someone would find some interest because we really want to move down to bloomington. here in the next week or two, we are really going to start looking and hopefully find a house to make an offer on whether we sell this place or not. we shall see. hope this finds you enjoying your week and the nice spring weather that is creeping in. we love it!
