winding down

(Disclaimer: sorry if this bores you, this is mostly for my family that lives out of town. enjoy otherwise.)
well. chris and I are winding down, but landon has other ideas. he has been a ball of fire since we got home but mostly since he took his nap. I don't know if it was because we were so restricted at the hospital since he really could only be in his room or if he is just excited to be home. I think it might be a combination of both. He has SO much energy and I....have none. The kid never stops amazing me. He slept maybe three or four hours last night. we had a couple midnight walks around his floor. he listened to meditation music to fall back to sleep. and the kid still got up at his normal time of 6:26 a.m. The doctor came and saw him around 10:00 and was on the fence about keeping him another night or sending home on oral meds. I am a little nervous because there is a high chance that he will have a reaction to one of the medicines he is on but we won't know until about day seven or eight. She couldn't believe how well the infection took to the antibiotics so quickly. She told us last night that she didn't expect the condition of his eye to change much at all today and that we would be staying for sure two nights with a possible visit to Riley to see a plastic surgeon. Thank goodness none of that happened and we were able to come home when we did. We were discharged a couple hours after we saw the doctor just in time for landon's usual naptime schedule and he took a wonderful two hour nap. Landon was quite the ladies man with the nurses on his unit. He couldn't not talk to them. He would just leave the room without telling us just to talk to the nurses. we would ask him where he was going and he would tell us he had something he needed to say to the nurses. we would ask him what he needed to say and he would tell us, "i'm think'n abou it". In other words, he didn't have anything important to say, but would say anything to talk to them and they would listen. He was quite the charmer. We accidentally took the security badge home that they give the parents to get in and out of the unit so when we took it back to them this afternoon, we took them a thank you card and some candy. They were so excited to see Landon again and gave him a hug. Landon sure made the best of the situation and I am so proud of his behavior while we were there. He did an awesome job! Not to mention, his eye looks SO much better. Thanks again for all the encourgement and support. Now onto the hard part of everything...saying goodbye to lily. I'll post again when we know more about that. Have a good weekend. We will especially knowing we don't have to be in the hospital over Easter weekend. Until next time.
